Safe Schools: Hope After Tragedy - Weston's Story

Tuesday, May 20, 2008

Topics in this webcast will include: responsibility for who has access to the children; the assumption that children are safe in the building; managing volunteerism; communication of expectations by staff, parents and community (state, nation and reporters) about situations; how communications have improved to help with mitigation of incident and follow-up; and the culture of the building with ways to support safety.

The webcast will also look at Weston’s second year and the challenge of recovery, asking the question “Do we really want to get back to normal?”.

Presented by:

Tom Andres
Superintendent
Weston School District
