Wisconsin Public Library Statistics

The Public Library Development Team annually collects statistics from the state's public libraries. Excel files of the statistics for 1996 - 2007 are listed below. (The statistics since 2003 are also available in PDF.)

Note: For those seeking national library data, the national public library data can be found on the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) website.

The Excel files of Wisconsin statistics include over 115 data elements grouped by general categories. Most of the categories are further defined. For example "collection" information includes volumes owned, added, A-V, periodicals, etc. Below are the general data elements.
