International Education

American students need to study global cultures, global challenges, and global connections, at all grade levels and across all subjects. Globally competent students must develop literacy in these areas:

• Community

International education programs in Wisconsin's school districts give all students opportunities to become globally competent. The Department of Public Instruction provides leadership through its work with students, teachers, school districts, administrators, parents, and business and community leaders by developing pathways to global literacy in the following areas:

• Advocacy
• Building Bridges to Other Cultures
• Teaching and Learning
• Study-Abroad Opportunities
